Dr. Sandrapaty stays actively involved in the medical community through membership in several professional societies. When he has free time, Dr. Sandrapaty enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Aruna, and their son, Vivek. He also likes water sports, snow skiing, traveling and reading.

Dr. Rao serves as a Medical Director for Florida Regional Cancer Centers. He was an active participant in numerous research projects for prostate, breast and gynecologic cancers. Plus, he enrolled patients for the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast Cancer Protocols (NSABP) and Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) lung cancer protocols. In addition, Dr. Rao moderated the International Prostate Cancer Workshop in Orlando, Florida and Long Beach, California and was an invited guest speaker at Sylvester Cancer Center – Miami Medical Center, Wayne State University and the American Association of Physician Specialists’ annual meeting in New York. In addition to helping train physicians, Dr. Rao helped his colleagues stet up HDR Brachytherapy suites in Florida. Next, he is a member of a national focus group that helped set guidelines for the implementation and use of prostate HDR treatment protocols. Finally, Dr. Rao is credited with introducing state-of-the-art 3-D treatment planning and IMRT, as well as stereotactic radiosurgery to Marion and Citrus Counties in Florida.
